The Evolution of Our Fairy-Filled Nature Yard

We found a little hole in the fence that looked like a secret 

passageway for fairies. So I asked the children what we should 

do about it and one little girl suggested surprising them 

by decorating it for them, so we began gathering 

little bits of nature from around the school 

yard that we thought they might like, 

such as: moss, bark, twigs, 

pebbles, walnuts 

and acorns. 

 

When the children came back to the secret passage with their nature

treasures, they discovered a set of stairs I made out of pieces of

bark. They instantly joined in by adding every bit of their 

collection to the fairy home. Here is what they came 

up with. It has been continually evolving 

ever since. In fact this was only 

the beginning......
